JVC introduces the KH-F870U HD-CMOS high definition (HD) camera with three next-generation 2/3-inch CMOS chips to deliver full 1080i or 720p (switchable) HDTV output. The KH-F870U provides uncompromising HDTV performance for a wide range of applications including point of view (POV) for broadcast television, live conferencing, speaker enlargement, remote sporting events, distance learning and more.

Three highly integrated CMOS image sensors give the KH-F870U extremely high sensitivity, negligible blooming, no visible smear and low fixed pattern noise. CMOS chips avoid skew lag, where an image does not have a true vertical appearance on the screen from top to bottom. By accessing the pixels directly, the KH-F870U lets the videographer quickly pan the camera without skewing the images. For high-end production on today's HDTV screens, CMOS imagers correct the skewing flaw, producing more natural movements and a more natural image. The camera provides two SMPTE 292M HD-SDI outputs.

The configuration is box style and, with its flexible 2/3-inch bayonet lens, is capable of myriad applications. Compact size and remote control capability make the KH-F870U the ideal camera for studio configurations and field broadcasting, such as sporting events, where unmanned cameras play such a critical role. Other applications include distance learning, government, high-quality TV, security and teleconferencing. What's more, the camera's industry standard B4 bayonet-style lens mount allows attachment to high quality HD lenses, microscopes, telescopes, and similar applications, making the HD-CMOS ideal for broadcast, medical and scientific imaging.
