Kramer Introduces FC-5 Protocol Translator, Controller

The FC-5 is a protocol translator designed to make an RS-232 controlled machine (Kramer and non-Kramer products) compatible with other RS-232 based protocols. By default the unit comes configured with two translation drivers, includes a PC based software program for user configuration and has two relays and eleven contact closure control connections.

Features

  • Standard Translation Drivers – The unit comes preprogrammed with two translation drivers, a generic RS-232 protocol to Kramer Protocol 2000 driver and a Sierra Video Systems protocol to Kramer Protocol 2000 driver.
  • Multiple Control Connections Available - 2 RS-232 COM ports, 11 remote contact closure pins, and 2 relay connections.
  • Included Configuration Software – Easy-to-use PC based software program included for the building of translation tables to define the association between codes for the COM ports, relays and contact closures. The unit can operate between four translation tables which are selected via dip switches and each translation table can include up to 256 translation commands.
  • Compact Size - Part of the Kramer TOOLS™ family of compact, high quality and cost effective solutions. Applications
