Panasonic's FS-100 version 4.0 is now available to the public. Version 4.0 adds the following functionality to FS-100:

* VFR Support - DVCPRO HD variable frame rate (VFR) recording is now possible with FS-100. VFR clips can be recorded to FS-100 in either 720p/24, 25 or 30 P2 PN or QuickTime PN format.

* QuickTime Reference Movie Support - QuickTime Reference recording automatically combines multiple files from a record sequence into a single file greatly aiding workflow and file management for Final Cut Pro users.

FS-100 version 3.0 owners can download the version 4.0 update starting August 28 from the Focus Enhancements website. Owners of FS-100 versions 1.0 and 2.0 can purchase the version 4.0 upgrade for $39 from the Focus Enhancements web store. All new FS-100 units shipping from Focus will have version 4.0 preloaded.
