The AG-HPX300 is world's first affordable full 10-bit, 4:2:2 professional HD camcorder. With 17x interchangeable lens, three 1/3" 2.2-megapixel 3-MOS imagers and full 1920x1080, 10-bit 4:2:2 AVC-Intra recording, the HPX300 brings true master-quality HD recording within your reach -- all with the benefit of P2's faster, independent frame, file-based workflow.

In a field of its own, the HPX300 delivers impressive, high-resolution recording using AVC-Intra and industry-standard DVCPRO HD, but also supports standard definition recording in DVCPRO50, DVCPRO and DV formats for complete flexibility. The multi-format camcorder also offers native 24p (23.98 fps), making it an affordable digital cinema solution for indie film production. Its newly designed 3-MOS imager utilizes a redesigned optical block, high-precision prism bonding and a new 20-bit digital signal processor (DSP) to provide exceptional image quality while minimizing any flare and chromatic aberration. Its high resolution LCOS color viewfinder (1,226,000-dot) and 3.2-inch LCD color monitor (921,000-dot) provide clear image reproduction even when shooting in bright outdoor areas.

The HPX300 offers a broad range of creative features including variable frame rates, six advanced gamma functions, Chromatic Aberration Compensation (CAC), built-in scan reverse, Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS) function, waveform and vector scope display and focus assist tools.

Take full advantage of the reliability and flexibility of the fast, file-based P2 workflow, as well as the security of its five-year warranty program (one year standard plus four additional years with registration. The two-slot HPX300 provides instant random access to recorded HD or SD content and operates reliably in harsh environments, with resistance to temperature extremes, shock and vibration. At eight pounds, the HPX300's lightweight, low-profile, well-balanced design and ergonomic handle makes it comfortable to use. All operation switches, volume controls and card slots are on the left side for easier operation.

The 1080P and 480P signals are recorded with 2:3 pull down (23.98p) or 2:3:3:2 advanced mode (23.98pA)

Output of the camera can be set for down conversion or cross-conversion with letterbox, 4:3 crop or squeeze

Variable frame rates in 20 steps between 12p and 60p for fast- or slow-motion effects (undercranking/overcranking)

Advanced P2 recording features including hot swapping, loop record, shot-marking, pre-record functions (three seconds in HD and seven seconds in SD), one-shot and interval

Key interfaces include two SDI outputs, video output (down-converted SD video only), IEEE 1394, USB 2.0 (host mode), built-in SMPTE time code (in/out terminals), gunlock and three audio XLR jacks
